Some Precautions for Ebola Survivors

According to CBS News, a new study shows that male Ebola survivors should make sure to wear condoms during sex for at least three months after recuperating from the illness. The study, published in Reproductive Sciences, confirmed the current recommendations in place for sexual activity after Ebola survival, but the authors noted that there is minimal research regarding male Ebola survivors and sex. Research conducted between 1977 and 2007 was analyzed and only four studies were found that contained information regarding men’s semen. The studies revealed that on average, the virus lingered in semen for more than 66 days after the las symptoms.
