Scientists Want to Start Researching Benefits of LSD

According to CBS News, a group of British scientists have successfully crowdfunded a campaign to study the brains of people on LSD. The study will seek to use MRI and MEG imaging to see how LSD affects brain processes, research which can revolutionize our understanding of the human brain and reveal how the psychedelic can be used to treat conditions such as OCD, alcohol addiction, depression and anxiety. Being that the drug has been illegal since the 1960′s, it has been virtually impossible for scientists to explore its benefits. Researchers expect the effects of LSD to be similar to psilocybin, but to be longer-lasting and more profound.
