Scientists Find Dream Control May Be Possible

Researchers have shown that controlling your dreams may not be restricted to science fiction after all, according to their research published in Nature NeuroscienceReuters reports. The researchers built on the findings that people who woke from lucid dreams showed gamma wave activity on an electroencephalogram. Using “electrodes on the scalp in a technique called transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS),” scientists induced a current with the same frequency as gamma waves. When the subjects awoke, they reported “that they were aware that they were dreaming. The volunteers were also able to control the dream plot…they also felt as if their dream self was a third party whom they were merely observing.”
