Biomedical engineer Ayse Gunduz, of the University of Florida, explain the recent developments and intricacies of deep brain stimulation. The research being developed will show health professionals just how electrode implant tests with brain stimulation helps patients. The tests are conducted to patients while they’re awake, so the doctors can see how they respond to electrodes; it enables the doctors of both voluntary and involuntary movements. This research can help us understand patients with Tourette’s and other movement disorders.
