One HPV Shot May Be Just as Effective as Three

According to CBS News, a recent study has found that only one shot of the HPV vaccine may be enough compared to the previously recommended three. Previous analyses supported the new data finding a steady approximate 80% effectiveness in women who received one, two, or three shots. While the initial study is not conclusive enough to make official changes to vaccine recommendations, health officials hope that a requirement of only one dose would increase vaccine usage to combat the fourth most common cancer death for women worldwide.
