Novo Nordisk Undertaking Once-Weekly Insulin Injection

According to an article published by Reuters, Novo Nordisk is in the process of developing the world’s first once-weekly insulin injection. In the next two decades, an estimated 592 million people will be living with diabetes, as cases are rising, particularly those resulting from obesity and lack of exercise. Currently, only one other company is pursuing a similar project, which is especially difficult considering the risk of hyper and hypoglycemia during insulin delivery.
