New Measles Cases Reported at Daycare, Total US Cases Exceed 100

Five new cases of measles have been reported at a daycare in Chicago, bringing the total number of cases in the as the United States to 102. According to CNN Health, more than 100 countries, including North Korea and Zimbabwe, have better vaccination rates than the United States when it comes to measles. Many parents in the U.S. obtain exclusions from having their children vaccinated, fearing that the vaccination may lead to childhood autism. Despite most children receiving the immunization, health care experts are making a push to have everyone vaccinated, working towards the goal of “herd protection.”
