New Drug for Chronic Sinusitis Successful in Mid-Stage Trial

A new drug from Sanofi and Regeneron was successful in reducing congestion in patients with chronic sinusitis, an article published by Reuters reports. The drug, Dupilumab, was effective in patients who did not respond to intranasal corticosteroids, and is also being tested for efficacy in atopic dermatitis and asthma. If approved, analysts estimate annual sales to reach $2 billion, with Sanofi to present additional details of the study at a medical conference, in addition to conducting further trials.
