New Apps Bring Novel Perspective to Healthcare

According to an article published by CNN Health, mobile technology may be reviving an age-old practice of medicine: the house call. With new apps like Pager and Medicast, patients in certain cities can pay a flat rate for a home visit from a doctor, at any hour of the day. Additionally, with telemedicial services such as Ringadoc and Doctor on Demand,  patients can speak with a physician via phone or video chat. With possibilities like avoiding an expensive ER visit or long wait times to see a physician, these new services are useful for both patients and the healthcare industry as a whole, according to the American Medical Association.
