Scientists working on the Cancer Research UK-funded TRACERx study have found that monitoring unstable chromosomes can help predict the return of lung cancers, possibly long before clinical imaging would be able to do so. Lead researcher, Charles Swanton, FRCP, BSc, PhD, of the Francis Crick Institute in London, believes this study provides new information on how tumors evolve and escape treatment.
