Increase in Unprotected Sex Among U.S. Gay Men Raises HIV Fears

“Fifty-seven percent of men who have sex with other men reported having unprotected anal sex at least once in the last 12 months, up from 48 percent in 2005,” according to an article published by Reuters. The CDC study reported that the increase in unprotected sex may be “because men are increasingly having sex with partners who have the same HIV status as their own in the belief that this lowers their risk of contracting the virus…”
