Hold That Glass: Wine & Chocolate May Not Be Linked to Health Benefits

Resveratrol, a compound often found in wine and chocolate, may not offer health benefits, according to a study published in JAMA Internal MedicineReuters reports. The study tested urinary resveratrol levels in 783 Italian men and women over the age of 65. Experts have claimed that resveratrol may help reduce inflammation and the risk of heart disease and cancer, but the data showed little or no difference between individuals with higher resveratrol levels, versus those with lower levels of the compound.
