Educating the Uninsured About New Healthcare Law

Enroll America, “a nonprofit group formed last year to get the word out to the uninsured and encourage them to get coverage,” is gathering information from focus groups to determine the level of knowledge uninsured people have of the new healthcare law. The New York Times reports that a meeting with a group in Florida “confirmed a daunting reality: Many of those the law is supposed to help have no idea what it could do for them.” As the nonprofit group works to educate and encourage Americans to get coverage, Enroll America is also seeking financing from the government evoking criticism from Republicans for “spending taxpayer money to promote the law.”
