Does Heart-Healthy Obesity Exist?

Reuters reports that there is more evidence in support of “the idea that obese people who are otherwise healthy are still at risk of heart problems down the road.” While several short-term studies have shown that obese people could be heart-healthy, researchers reviewed other studies that found that obese people without high blood pressure or diabetes still had higher risk of stroke and heart attack compared to those at a normal weight. The findings suggest that both weight and metabolic state affect heart health.
