The 2011 Society of Hospital Medicine Conference in Dallas, TX, concluded today.

The day kicked off with a lecture by Dr. Bradley Sharpe about teaching on the wards. Dr. Jack Percelay then led a session entitled “How to conduct patient and family centered rounds: what adult hospitalists need to know”.

 

Later, Drs. Mitchell Wilson and Jeanette Kalupa gave their insights into the state of the NPPs in hospitalist medicine.

 

Dr. Vineet Arora concluded the conference and captivated the audience with her talk on hospital handoffs, discussing opportunities to improve patient safety and quality in care transitions.
