Artificial Heart Patient has Never “Felt So Good”

An article in Reuters Health states that the second patient to receive an artificial heart from Carmat, a French medtech company, is “leading a normal life including physical exercise” eight months after receiving his new heart. Following the success of this 69-year-old male’s procedure, doctors will schedule the next two artificial heart procedures in the coming months. It should be noted, however, that the first artificial heart recipient from Carmat, a 76-year-old male, died two months after the transplant surgery.
