Arizona governor signs law banning most late-term abortions

PHOENIX (Reuters) – Arizona’s Republican Governor Jan Brewer signed into law on Thursday a controversial bill that bans most abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, except in the case of a medical emergency.

Brewer made her decision only a few days after the late-term abortion bill was sent to her desk with the backing of the Republican-dominated state legislature.
