Another Listeria Outbreak Hits Ice Cream Manufacturer

Another ice cream manufacturer has been hit by a listeria monocytogenes outbreak and halted production of its ice cream, Reuters reported. The company, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, has stopped production for the second time in the last few months for a positive test of the potentially deadly listeria bacteria. According to the CDC, symptoms of ingestion of Listeria include muscle aches, fever, diarrhea, and other gastrointestinal symptoms, but can still vary patient to patient. In addition to Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, Blue Bell Creameries was also recently hit by a listeria outbreak.
