8 Day Extension to Sign Up for Health Insurance

An article in The New York Times reports that the Obama administration is giving “people eight more days, until Dec. 23, to sign up for health insurance coverage that takes effect on Jan. 1 under the new health care law.” Due to the technical problems with the online insurance market place, the government made the decision to give customers more time to select plans. This extension will now “delay the 2015 insurance enrollment period for the Affordable Care Act by a month, pushing it beyond the 2014 elections.”
