Rory J Todhunter, BVSc, PhD, Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Professor of Surgery, Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine describes the progress of Cornell University researchers in mapping canine genomes to find genes responsible for certain diseases in dogs.

Summary
Genetic diseases in dogs such as retinal disorders, aggression traits and hip dysplasia have been studied by Cornell researchers to map dog genomes and will eventually be used to find genes that cause similar disease in humans.
