VIDEO HELP

How do I make a video?
You'll need to have a device that can capture digital movies—this could be a camcorder, digital camera, or even your cell phone! You copy the movies to your computer, and then you can either upload them as-is or edit them with software such as iMovie or Windows Movie Maker or Final Cut Pro (for the aspiring movie makers out there) to add titles and special effects.

How Do I Upload a Video?
Once you've finished editing your video, made sure it's less than 3 minutes, smaller than 100MB, and in an acceptable format, you're ready to upload it.

1. Log In to your Doctor's Channel account or register for a new account.
2. Click "Upload Videos" in the upper-right-hand corner of any page of The Doctor's Channel.
3. Enter as much information about your video as possible, including Title, Description, and Tags. The more information you include, the easier it is for users to find your video!
4. Click the "Browse" button to browse for the video file. Select the file you want to upload.
5. Click the "Upload Video" button.

What video file formats can I upload?
The Doctor's Channel accepts video files in the .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, .FLV and .MPG file formats.

What aspect ratio should the videos be?
The Doctor's Channel prefers videos to be in the 16:9 (widescreen) aspect ratio, but also accepts videos that are in the 4:3 (standard) aspect ratio.

What should I put in my video description?
To best promote your video, you'll want its description to be both accurate and interesting. The description will be displayed under the video and provide information to your colleagues. Here are a few tips to help you get started:

Your video should stand out from the crowd. Try to determine what content it contains that will help users find it and distinguish it from other videos. Using descriptive language in complete sentences is a good idea.

Give credit when appropriate.
If people don't know the exact title or other keywords associated with your video, they might search the name of a participant or another website where it's featured. Be sure to include as much information as you feel comfortable, but be careful not to include anything that shouldn't be publicly displayed.

What are tags? How do I add them?
Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a urology video might be tagged with "urology", "prostate," "bladder," "BPH," and "OAB." Users who are interested in watching urology videos can then search for any of those terms and that video will show up in their search results. Tags help you label videos you upload so that other people can find them more easily.

What type of content should the videos should contain?
Uploaded videos should be educational in content. Users may not upload videos that are advertisements for websites, services or products. User uploaded videos are reviewed by The Doctor's Channel and will be posted upon approval.

How long will my video take to upload?
Depending on your connection speed and the size of the video, it can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours to upload a video. Generally, if you have a high-speed Internet connection you can expect the upload to take somewhere between 1-5 minutes for every 1MB. However, the experience is different for every user because of the variation in connection speeds.

Why isn't my video showing up in search?
Depending on site traffic, changes to video information can take 8 hours or more to show up in the search index after they've been uploaded, changed, and approved. Please be patient -- the video will show in the search index shortly.

Do I have to sign up to upload videos?
Yes. Since videos are attached to your account, you must sign up as a member to upload videos. Becoming a member also allows you to save videos, create Playlists, and leave comments, among many other features.

How long/large can my video be?
All videos uploaded to The Doctor's Channel have a 100MB file size limit. The longer the video is, the more compression will be required to fit it into that size. For that reason, most videos on The Doctor's Channel are under three minutes long and there is a 3-minute length limit for all videos.

Is there a limit to how many videos I can upload?
We don't have any limit for the number of videos you can upload, and don't foresee adding a ceiling anytime in the future.

What is a Playlist?
Playlists are collections of videos that can be watched on The Doctor's Channel, shared with other people, or embedded into websites or blogs. "Favorites" is your default Playlist, but you can create as many as you want.

How do I make a Playlist?
There are two ways to make Playlists.

1. Click on the "Save to Favorites" link under the video you're watching.

Groups allow multiple people to discuss things publicly, post multiple videos that apply to the discussion.
